It is made by Stoudt’s Brewing, brewer of the tavern’s two house beers: MCGILLIN'S REAL ALE & MCGILLIN'S GENUINE LAGER. McGillin’s serves a large selection of regional microbrews such as Stoudt’s, Victory, Sly Fox, Philadelphia Brewing, Brewery ARS, Old Dominion, Troegs and Dogfish Head beers on tap, as well as imports.
Opened 1860 by Ma & Pa McGillin. Their daughter, Mercedes, sold it to Brothers Henry Spaniak & Joe Shepaniak in 1958. Henry's daughter, Mary Ellen, currently owns the bar with her husband, Chris Mullins. Their son, Christopher Mullins, Jr. serves as manager.
McGillin's Olde Ale House opened in 1860, making it Philadelphia's oldest continuously operating tavern. Celebrated our 150th anniversary in 2010.
